On my last trip I decided to tackle an item pending on my to-do list and visit Espai Kru, located on the top floor of the classic seafood restaurant Rías de Galicia, just off Plaça Espanya. It turned out to be an excellent evening, filled with surprises. Delights straight out of the sea, interpreted and combined in ways we’d never tried before: sea urchins, tuna, prawns, oysters, razor clams… What really amazed me was the restaurant’s skill with squid: a total of four independent dishes prepared with raw squid, illustrating the undiscovered versatility of this seafaring invertebrate. I’ll be back.
